Ligia Fonseca, the First Lady of Cabo Verde, has been awarded the GLOBAL INSPIRATIONAL LEADERSHIP AWARD for Women World Leaders 2014 by the Center for Economic and Leadership Development (CELD), a non-governmental organization, with special consultative status with the United Nations ECOSOC, which is commited to helping vulnerable women, youths and children achieve their full potential.
The Africa Middle East Asia Women Summit ( AMEAWS), one of the largest international conferences on women in the world and the largest in the Africa-Middle East -Asia region, takes place Friday, 21, as part of the The Africa-Middle East-Asia Women Summit 2014, taking place on 20-22 November at the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, Dubai, UAE.
Under the theme “Emerging Economies: closing the credit gap and investing in women for sustainable growth,” the Summit of Women in Africa, Middle East and Asia, aims to bring together women who stand out in these regions, as well as key stakeholders / actors in Africa, Middle East and Asia to jointly discuss the need to identify and harness the untapped and lucrative opportunities and the economic and political commitments made by women.
According to promotors, the choice of the First Lady od Cabo Verde Ligia Fonseca, is due to the various initiatives she has undertaken, with a focus on women, particularly in the areas of HIV / AIDS, education, maternal and child health, among other.
